What are your plans for Thursday? Atlanta is "Giving A Spit" and saving lives on September 19th at Atlantic Station. We need our young people (ages 18-24) to come out and get swabbed to be added to the national bone marrow registry. Imagine being able to save a life because you are a match and you actually gave a spit! The Atlanta Business Project is delighted to promote our Council President's "Give A Spit" Kick Off Party on Thursday, September 19th at Central Park in Atlantic Station. Eat, Drink, and be Merry all while saving lives! See below for details!
Re-purposed Seating for MARTA
The Atlanta Business Project has tons of pride for this city and we take pride in adopting the L.O.H.A.S (lifestyles of health and sustainability) way of living and doing business. There are a lot of sustainable based initiatives in and around Atlanta but we happened to come across one that grabbed our hearts and gave it a gentle tug. The Recycle House is an organization that not only recycles but it gives back in very unique ways.
While picking up left-over items and making sure our city is sparkling clean, The Recycle House re-purposes used seating and plants them right under local MARTA bus stops. Successful marketing tactics begin with the end in mind. After all, if you don’t know where you’re going, how do you expect to know how to get there? That makes it essential to understand exactly what the customer wants and anticipate their needs long before they begin a search for a product or service.
But how do you really know how to visualize the future? What can you do to turn your small business into a huge business, with high conversions, and high profits? Online marketing is the result of ambition, determination, commitment, and a desire to succeed. It’s also dependent on successful marketing tactics that attract visitors, drive sales, and retain long-term loyal customers. Turbo-marketers are highly focused on advanced marketing tactics that enable them to successfully grow an online business. They are the leaders and winners in the world of online marketing and sales.
The good news is that there have been many people who have tried, failed, tried again, failed again, and finally succeeded in identifying the most effective marketing tactics for an online business. If you intend to have a website then you have an online business as well. Learning from the mistakes and successes of other thriving marketers gives today’s marketers the ability to come out of the gate running -- and with some ambition and hard work, move ahead of the pack to become a leader. Marketing tactics can be extremely complex or quite simple. Ironically, the simple tactics are the ones that are most effective and successful. Value-added headlines, informative content, and visual appeal are simple tactics that can drive conversions and sales.
For example, one simple tactic is to make it quick and easy for web visitors and customers to view information on your website. Allowing adequate white space, creating short sentences, and keeping enough space between words, sentences, and paragraphs will make your site more appealing. You began your business in order to make money, right? Well, it's probably apparent you’ll have a greater chance of making more money from individuals who are interested in the kinds of products and services you sell.
Let’s use the example that you run a website that promotes a product or service, which helps people lose weight. So, the types of people you want to find and visit your website are those who are interested in becoming thinner. Conversely, if a visitor to your website isn’t particularly interested in losing weight (but is instead searching the Internet because they’re interested in video games or gardening), then it’s unlikely that they’re going to convert into a paying customer. There are a number of tools available to help you research and track potential keywords phrases to focus on. One of the first tools continues to be one of the most popular with online marketing; the Wordtracker keyword research tool (click the logo to be taken to the website).
While the full-featured paid version of Wordtracker is extremely powerful, there is also a very useful free online version that you can use (freekeywords.wordtracker.com). When you use the free keyword suggestion tool on the phrase “weight loss”, you’ll see the top 100 keyword phrases related to the weight loss market. The Wordtracker results are meant to mirror Google search traffic, so according to this search, there are approximately 31,000 Google searches performed each day with the term “weight loss”. (Some industry experts believe that this data underestimates the volume of Google traffic, and that the actual volume may be several times the amount shown in Wordtracker.) If you’re reading this post, then you probably want to set up your own online business or website. But it can be difficult (and a little overwhelming) to know where to start. In fact, once you start doing your own research on where to begin, you may come across advice that could seem contradictory.
The fact that there is so much advice out there (some of which is sometimes contradictory) shouldn’t be surprising. Keyword research is as much an art as it is a science, and the Internet search engines that use keywords have very complicated (and proprietary) processes for determining which web pages show up in search results, and in which orders. One of the biggest mistakes that new business owners make is thinking once their websites are up and running on the Internet, they just need to sit back and watch the customer inquiries and orders roll in.
This is a mistake because if no one knows your website exists, or can’t find the website when they’re searching for the type of product or service you sell, then you’re never going to make any money. Even if you have a top-notch web store, if potential customers can’t find it then they can’t buy from you, and your business is likely to fail. |
